Betty attended Kohler Elementary after moving from Tokyo, Japan and attended Campos Verdes before attending Highlands where she was active in the Orchestra as a violinist. She received her AA at ARC and went on to attend UCDavis and graduated with a BS in Geology at CSUS. Betty worked for marketing firms and took over sales, marketing, and promotions for Whitewater Expeditions & Tours (co-owned with her Husband, Stephen Liles).
