Greybeard Walking Club - Yosemite Adventure

Planning for this trip may be an overstatement. In any case, Graham suggested a hike in Yosemite and David, Henry, Rick and Tom signed on. Our "training" hikes began in April on the Dish walk on Stanford property. David acquired the wilderness permit which gave us the end of the timeline in September. We gradually added daypacks, then backpacks with increasing weights inside. Henry got up to 40 pounds in his which he carried with pride. Tom did the meal planning. Rick kept us on purpose. The 19 mile hilke began on Sept 9, 2011 at Glacier Point, traversed to Illilouette Creek for our first night, then back across Panorama Cliffs to Nevada Falls and Little Yosemite Valley for next two nights at the Backpacker Camp. In between those two nights we walked up the cables to Half Dome. On Sept 12 we walked down to Yosemite Valley. A great time had by all.[Click for Original in new window.
