LANGLEY, Wilma Lois 'Lea'
Born October 24, 1932 in Lee Creek, Arkansas. Died August 3, 2012 peacefully at home in Sacramento, California.
Preceded in death by father Arthur Rippetoe, mother Gertrude Rippetoe, brother Jimmy Rippetoe, sister Sue Markel and husband Gary Comphel. Survived by sons Brian and Bruce Langley of Sacramento, granddaughter Melissa, her husband Patrick and great-grandchildren, Terra, Eva, and Leif and grandson Mathew. Siblings Ruby Stead (Pete), Floyd Rippetoe (Juanita), Ella Sannes and numerous nieces and nephews. And her late husband Gary Comphel Children and grandchildren.
She grew up in Susanville. Ca. She and her family moved to Sacramento in 1960, so she could finish her education at Sac State University. She finished her master's degree in Communications. She was a respected high school 1. teacher for about forty years, yearbook and newspaper advisor in the Grant High School District. She was a lifelong seeker of knowledge who loved to read. She was a community activist in the midtown area. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom lovingly called her Gram. She and her husband Gary enjoyed traveling to Mexico, Hawaii, Russia, Germany and England.
Memorial service to be announced at a later date, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to NAMI Sacramento Chapter.
