Recent News About Me:
POLEN, James Paul "J.P." James Paul Polen passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family in Santa Rosa, California on February 14, 2015. Born July 2, 1952 in Canton, Ohio, and preceded in death by parents Ralph and Irene Polen, brother William Polen, and sister Florence Rezende. He is lovingly survived by his dedicated wife Patti; son Austin James Emery Polen; brothers Robert Polen, Keith (Jeannie) Polen, Frank (Carol) Rezende and sisters Amelia (David) Smith, Francisca de Rezende and Tammy (Mike) Alan. He was self- dubbed "Faux-Pa" to grandchildren Jase, Jessica, Sadie and great-granddaughter Kailee. He was the favorite Uncle J.P. to many nieces and nephews. J.P. graduated from high school in North Highlands, CA in 1970 and from California State University, Sacramento in 1978. He received his C.P.A. in 1981. He worked for Blue Diamond Almonds for many years. After moving to Santa Rosa, he was Controller for Fedco Construction and served many years on the Board of Directors for Fedco Construction and Redwood Credit Union. Jimmy will be remembered for being the ring-leader for the massive family reunions every Fourth of July, which may or may not have been due to the proximity of the event of his birth. He was "grill master extraordinaire" with a life-long affair for silly head wear and a hat for every occasion. He was a loquacious man with a quick wit, wry sense of humor and a penchant for puns. J.P. was a talented drummer for over 50 years and a mustachioed rock star. Services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa. A reception will follow the service, with directions given at that time. In celebration of J.P.'s signature trademark head wear, please wear your favorite silly hat to the reception only.
