Occupation: | Nurse Practitioner | | PIt is hard to know what to say, exactly, but I'll give you some highlights of my mom's life and if I leave anything out that you would like to know or think is important, just ask me and I'll answer. Joy was married to Jack Kimple for nearly thirty years until her death in 2006. She had three children; a son, Brooke and two daughters, Claire and Maia. She was a Nurse Practitioner and worked with her husband, a doctor, for many years in a private practice. She also owned and ran a restaurant called Humble Pie, where she was the head chef for about 5 years in the late 80's. She earned her master's degree in the 90's from Sacramento State and was working on her PhD when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2005. She also was a health care provider for the VA hospital in Redding, where she helped many people suffering with PTSD. She was fearless, spunky, hilarious, beautiful, kind, generous and fun right up until the very end. She travelled the world, ran marathons, climbed mountains and followed her dreams. She was an incredible mother, wife and friend who gave without measure and showed up when you least expected it but just when you needed it. She is still sorely missed. > > > > Joy is survived by her husband Jack Kimple (Redding, CA), son Brooke Kimple (Novato, CA), daughter in law Marya Kimple, grandsons Kai & Neko Kimple, daughter Claire Kimple (San Rafael, CA), son in law Jon Buttemere, daughter Maia Yamasaki (San Francisco, CA) and son in law Kobi Yamasaki. This was submitted by her daughter Maia | | |
