Richard passed away August 6, 2015, at the age of 67.
He was born into a military family. His father, L.C. McCune, was an Air Force pilot and served in the Korean War. Richard joined the Marines in February 1968 and fought in the Vietnam War. His pride in the Marines and love of his country were important to him throughout the rest of his life.
After his military service, Richard returned to school and later became a geologist for the Army Corps of Engineers. His hobbies included collecting rocks and collecting antiques (especially antique electric trains). He was a member of the American Legion and was a true patriot.
Richard will be missed dearly by his wife, Remy, along with many others he leaves behind.
A visitation will take place Thurs., August 20th from 1pm-4pm and Funeral Service Fri., August 21st at 10 am; both will take place at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Interment at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
