Abomey, Benin

Cold beer, pandidiyam, and African stew coming up. At Abomey, we saw the two palaces which remain of the 12 from the Dan-Homey empire. We saw King Ghezo’s throne on four human skulls and appliqué tapestries depicting the history of conquests, slave trade and Amazon warriors. And there was the tomb of King Glele, buried with 41 of his 3,000 wives.
