News:

Mike joined the Marines at 17 years old, and came home after being seriously injured. (He "lost his leg" in Vietnam at the age of 19.) He spent many months in a hospital in Philadelphia; I remember, because I traveled back/forth from CT as a teen with my step-mother to go visit him. As he became older, he experienced more health related problems. He is buried in the veteran's cemetary in Johnson City (about 2-3 hours east of Knoxville), where he is buried on a hill very close to the flag. Our Dad (Leon), Mike and his brother Loren were all Marines. He may have gone by "Leon" or "Mike" (his middle name). One of his sons was also a Marine and currently lives in Knoxville.
